1. Identify by color
The color of fresh wolfberry varies from place of origin, but the color is very soft, shiny, and the flesh is full; while the dyed goji berry is mostly old goods from previous years. But it is very bright and attractive, so when buying goji berry, you must not be greedy for "color". In particular, the dyed goji berry is all red, even the small white spots at the pedicle of the goji berry are red, while the tip of the normal goji berry is mostly yellow or white, and the pedicle of thegoji berry that has been dyed with pigment is red. Baked dark brown. Since the goji berrydyed with pigment is particularly afraid of water, it is recommended that you put a few goji berry in the water when purchasing goji berry, or rub it with wet hands on purpose. If the color fades, it means that the pigment has been used.
2. Identify from the shape
Goji berry has been used as a local medicinal material since ancient times, and has the highest medicinal value. Most of the medlar tips in Ningxia have small white spots, but there are no medlars from other places. The white spots on the tip of Ningxia medlar can reach 85%. 90% of Ningxia goji berry does not sink in water, and it floats on the surface of the water whether it is brewing tea or making soup.
3. Identify by smell
For goji berry that has been fumigated by sulfur, you only need to grab a handful and cover it with both hands for a while, and then put it under your nose to smell it. If you can smell a pungent odor, then you can definitely be fumigated by sulfur.
4. Identify by taste
Ningxia goji berry is sweet, it tastes very sweet, but there is a bitter taste in the throat after eating; and the goji berry in Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang and other places is a little greasy, and the goji berry soaked in alum will have a bitter taste of alum when chewed. Sulfur goji berry has a sour, astringent, and bitter taste.
